Lamar students investigated for threats

LAMAR—What could have been a school's worst nightmare may turn out to have been a case of very foolish talk at Lamar High School Thursday. During the same week that a Montrose High School student's throat was slit in the hallways of her school, a group of LHS students reportedly made threats concerning their school. Full story »

Martinez, family to settle in Lamar

LAMAR—Matthew Martinez, who has spent the last nine and a half years years in the U.S. Navy will settle in Lamar with his wife Tammy Turpin and their two children, Mason and Malea. Martinez is a former resident of Las Animas, Colo. and the couple has family in Lamar.
